Baby Portraits: Madison

More baby love! This is baby Madison. Her newborn portrait session was a lot of fun to do. Their home was an ideal place to shoot with lots of great window light. It was a cold winter day so being outside was not an option.

I like to photograph my newborns as naturally as possible. I don’t use a lot of props and like to have the parents and siblings in the shots as much as possible to show the loving bonds between baby and family.

If you are thinking of doing a newborn session with your little one the best time to do it is in the first 10 days of baby’s life. It’s during this time that baby is sleeping the most and less likely to wake up when moved around. If you miss this small window – don’t fret! A portrait session is still totally doable it may just take a bit longer and some poses might not be possible but it’s never a bad time to photograph your baby!
